An Audio Visual (AV) Stage (a Stage type in Evotix Learn that gates a mandatory video or audio file, requiring learners to watch or listen to the featured content to at least the 90% mark before the Stage is marked complete) is used to deliver multimedia-led training within a Mission (a collection of Stages grouped by topic). The featured video or audio appears at the top of the Stage and is mandatory. The Stage body can contain supplementary text, images, files, and additional videos, but only the featured media must be consumed to complete the Stage. If no featured video or audio is set, learners cannot progress and the Stage must not be published in that state. The workflow is contained entirely within Evotix Learn and does not require configuration in Assure.

How an AV Stage Behaves for Learners
- At the top of an Audio Visual (AV) Stage is a featured piece of multimedia content, either a video or an audio file. This piece of content must be watched by the user to the 90% mark to complete the Stage and allow them to move to the next Stage.
- The body of the Stage can then contain text, images, files, and even other videos; however, only the featured content has to be watched in order to complete the Stage.
- The Stage can be configured to hide or show the video progress bar, meaning users can be restricted from scrolling through the video or audio if it is mandatory for them to watch or listen to the entire piece of content.
- If the AV Stage does not have a featured video or audio set, the user will not be able to progress, so the featured media must be set before the Stage is published.

Steps: Create an Audio Visual Stage
- In the Learn back-end admin interface, click Add new under Audio Visual Stages.
- Add the title of the Stage.
- Add a featured image in the Featured Media tab.
- Add a featured video or audio in the Featured Media tab.
- Add the content of the Stage body using the Block Editor.
- Set the Interest Categories of the Stage.
- Configure the Stage using the configuration panel at the bottom of the admin page. See the Stage Configuration Options section below and the Configure your Learn Stages article for full details.
- Click the Publish button in the top right of the page.
Stage Configuration Options
AV Stages have the following configuration options available:
Content Locked
- Ticking this checkbox will lock the Stage until the previous Stage has been completed, meaning users must move through the content in a specific order.
- Leaving the Stage unlocked allows learners to access the Stage at any point in their learning journey.
Skippable
- Ticking this checkbox will enable the scrub bar in the video while it is being played, allowing users to move through the video to specific points.
- Making the video un-skippable ensures users will have to watch the video fully through to the 90% mark to complete the Stage.
Stage Points
- The number of points the user will earn for completing the Stage. By default, AV Stages award 10 points on first completion.
Note: AV Stages do not have a Stage Duration configuration option. This field is not available for this Stage type. See the Configure your Learn Stages article for a full comparison of configuration options across all Stage types.
Important Notes
- If the AV Stage does not have a featured video or audio set, the user will not be able to progress. A featured video or audio file must be set before the Stage is published.
- The Stage body can contain text, images, files, and additional videos; however, only the featured content is mandatory to consume in order to complete the Stage.
- AV Stages use per-block translations. To add translated content, use the language button within each individual block in the Block Editor. This is different from Quiz Stages and SCORM Stages, which use page-wide translations.
- Supplementary content added via the Block Editor body area is never mandatory, regardless of what media type is used.
