An Article Stage (the simplest Stage type in Evotix Learn, the Evotix training and learning platform, designed to deliver text-based content to learners) can also include supplementary content such as images, videos, and files. Supplementary content is not mandatory for learners to view in order to complete the Stage. To complete an Article Stage, the learner only needs to scroll to the bottom of the page.
Content is built using the Block Editor (the content creation tool used to construct Stages and Resources in Learn), which allows administrators to add and arrange individual content blocks such as headings, paragraphs, lists, columns, images, and videos. Once the Article Stage is ready, the administrator saves a draft, previews the content, and publishes the Stage so it can be incorporated into a Mission (a collection of Stages grouped by topic) and pushed to learners in the Learn app.

How an Article Stage Behaves for Learners
- Featured image
- Body content, including:
- Text
- Media (images, videos, embeds)
- Files
Steps: Create an Article Stage
1. In the Learn back-end admin interface, navigate to the left-hand menu and click Add new under Article Stages. Clicking Add new opens a completely blank starting point for the new Stage.
2. Add the title of the Stage at the top of the admin page.
3. Navigate to the Media tab at the top of the page and add a featured image for the Stage.
4. Add the body content of the Stage using the Block Editor.
- The Block Editor button is located in the bottom right of the admin page. Click the button to open the editor.
- Click Browse All to view all available block types.
- Add blocks to structure the content. Available block types include:
- Heading -- breaks up content and highlights different topics.
- Paragraph -- adds styled, aligned, and hyperlinked text.
- List -- adds bulleted or numbered lists. List items can be indented.
- Columns -- arranges content in a multi-column layout, useful for presenting information side by side (for example, a two-column layout with headings and lists on each side).
- Image, Video, File, and Embeds -- adds media and downloadable files to the Stage body.
- Content can be copied and pasted from external source materials directly into the relevant blocks.
- Multiple blocks can be added in sequence to complete the Stage body (for example: headings, lists, further lists, and a closing paragraph).
5. Set the Interest Categories of the Stage to help learners find relevant content.
6. Configure the Stage settings in the configuration panel at the bottom of the admin page:
- Content Locked: Tick this checkbox to lock the Stage until the previous Stage in the Mission has been completed, enforcing a specific content order. Leaving the Stage unlocked allows learners to access the Stage at any point in their learning journey.
- Stage Duration: Setting a duration gives learners an indication of the time required to complete the Stage. The duration is informational only and does not set a deadline or time limit.
- Stage Points: Defines the number of points a learner earns upon first completion of the Stage. By default, Article Stages award 10 points on first completion.

7. Click Save Draft in the top right of the admin page to save progress, or click Preview to review how the Stage will appear to learners on the front end.
8. Once satisfied with the draft and preview, click Publish in the top right of the admin page to publish the Article Stage. The Stage can then be incorporated into a Mission and pushed to learners in the Learn app.

Important Notes
- Article Stages use per-block translations. To add translated content, use the language button within each individual block's toolbar in the Block Editor. This differs from Quiz Stages and SCORM Stages, which use page-wide translations.
- Content added via the Block Editor (images, videos, files) is not mandatory for learners to view. Learners complete the Stage by scrolling to the bottom of the page, regardless of whether they engage with supplementary media.
- Block order can be rearranged. Administrators can drag and reorder blocks on the admin page before publishing to adjust the content layout.
