HOW TO CREATE A PASSWORD EMAIL LINK FOR NEW USERS

When creating a new user in the system, you have the option to Send “Create Password” Link email.
If selected and the user has a valid email address in their user setup, a user will receive an email with their user name and a link to set their password.
The link will be valid for 48 hours from finalising the user's setup. The link will become invalid when:
- The user successfully creates a password
- The 48 hour validity time has passed
- If an admin sets a password for the user after the link was sent
- Another create password link email is issued to the user invalidating the previous one
The user can request to receive a new email on the link expiry screen as per below or an admin can choose to resend the email by enabling Send ”Create Password” Link again in the user setup.
The option to Send “Create Password” Link will remain in a user’s setup until the user has created their password for the first time, or a password has been set for them using the password/confirm password fields by an admin.
HOW TO RESET A PASSWORD VIA RESET PASSWORD LINK FOR EXISTING USERS
After a user has created their password, or an admin has set a password for them in the user set up, the Send “Create Password” Link option will no longer be visible and a new option to Send “Reset Password” Link will display.
If selected the option to Send “Reset Password” Link will send the user an email with a reset password link. The link will be valid for 48 hours from enabling in the user's setup.
The link in the reset email will become invalid when:
- The user successfully resets their password
- The 48 hour validity time has passed
- If an admin sets a password for the user after the link was sent
- Another reset link email is issued invalidating the previous one
The user can request to receive a new email on the link expiry screen or an admin can choose to resend the email by enabling Send “Reset Password” Link again in the user setup.
HOW TO TRIGGER A PASSWORD LINK EMAIL VIA DATA IMPORT
