This article explains how to access and use the Detail View (a read-only page that lists all information stored against a specific record) in Assure. It covers how to open the Detail View from the Three Dots Menu (the three dots icon in Assure that provides a list of available actions for a record), how to print the record details page, and how to switch to edit mode if the user holds the appropriate permissions. This article applies to all Assure users working within any Module (a functional component of Assure designed to manage a specific area of health, safety, and risk processes).
Prerequisites
- An active Assure user account with access to at least one Module.
- Read permission configured by a system administrator in order to view the Detail View.
- Write (edit) permission required to use the Edit button within the Detail View.
Problem / Intent
Users need to view the complete details of a record without entering edit mode. The Detail View provides a structured, read-only summary of all information associated with a record and includes options to print or, where permitted, switch directly to edit mode.
Steps
Step 1: Open the Detail View
- Navigate to the relevant Module in Assure (for example, Incident Record, Risk Assessment, Audit).
- Locate the record in the module list view.
- Click the Three Dots icon next to the record to open a menu.
- Select Detail from the menu.
The Detail View page opens, displaying all information stored against the record.
Step 2: Review the Record
- The Detail View lists all the record's details in a structured, read-only format.
- The page is not editable directly from this view.
Step 3: Print the Record
- Click the Three Dots button located at the very bottom left of the Detail View page (next to the Close button) to open a list of options.
- Click the Print button
Step 4: Edit the Record (if applicable)
- If the user holds the appropriate Write (edit) permission for the module, an Edit button is available.
- Click the Edit button to open the record in edit mode and amend information on the current form.
- The Edit button can be found at the bottom right corner, just left of the navigation buttons.
Notes and Warnings
Note: The Detail View is read-only. No changes can be saved from within the Detail View unless the user clicks Edit to enter edit mode.
Note: The Edit button is only visible to users who have been granted Write (edit) permission for the relevant Module and Organisational Unit (Org Unit). If the Edit button is not visible, contact the Assure Administrator to review Role Permissions.
