This article explains how a logged-in Assure user can change their own password from within the system. The process is initiated via the username dropdown in the top-right corner of the Assure interface and requires the user to know their current password. This workflow applies to all Assure users and is a single-module, platform-wide function contained within the user account area.
Note: This article covers self-service password change only. For resetting a forgotten password, administrator-triggered password resets, or configuring system-wide password policies, refer to the related articles below.
Prerequisites
The user must be logged in to Assure.
The user must know their current (existing) password.
Steps
Click your username displayed in the top-right corner of the Assure interface to open the user dropdown menu.
The dropdown displays the following options:
My Preferences
My Permissions
Change My Password
Log Out
Select Change My Password.
Enter your current password into the Old Password field.
Enter your new password into the New Password field.
Re-enter the same new password into the Confirm Password field.
Click Save & Close to apply the new password to your account.
Notes
- The new password must meet any password complexity requirements configured by your System Administrator in Settings > System Configuration > System Settings > Password and Login Management. Requirements may include minimum length, uppercase characters, numeric characters, or special characters.
- If no password complexity rules have been configured, any password will be accepted.
- If you do not know your current password, use the Forgot your password? link on the Assure login screen or contact your System Administrator.
