03. Managing Quick Reports and IP Restrictions (Web Portal Only)
Quick reports and filtered quick reports can only be added to the Web Portal, not AssureGO+.
Quick Reports allow any Portal user to view a Quick Report that was designed in the main system.
Filtered Quick Reports allow any Portal user to view a Filtered Quick Report that was designed in the main system.
See articles below for more details regarding how to configure Quick Reports and Filters, that can then be added to your portal.
Adding Quick Reports to your Portal
To add a Quick Report to your Portal, the Quick Report must have Publish to Portal selected within the settings.
To check if your Quick Report can be published to the Portal, go to the module that your Quick Report is for, and select Manage
Select Edit from the Cog menu for the Quick Report:
You will the see the following screen:
Ensure the Publish to Portal box has been ticked for any reports you with to be selectable in your Portal.
To add the Quick Report to your Portal, navigate to Settings > Portal Dashboard:
Edit the Portal Dashboard you wish to add the Quick Reports to:
Scroll down to the Quick Reports section and select +Add to add any previously configured Quick Reports. Once you have selected all the Quick Reports that you would like to see in your portal, remember to select Save & Close.
This will then show the Quick Reports on the Portal for all users to run containing all data from that module.
Adding Filtered Quick Reports to your Portal
To add a Filtered Quick Report to your Portal, the Quick Report must have Publish to Portal selected within the settings.
Scroll down to the Filtered Quick Reports section of your Portal Dashboard, and select +Add to add any quick reports and filters previously created.
You will then see this screen, where you can select the quick report and the filter which will be applied to that Quick Report:
It is important to note that if the ‘Allow Personnel Data’ is ticked, any user with access to the Portal will be able to view all personal data contained within the Quick Report.
The ‘Sort Field’ selection allows you to set which field the report will be sorted by.
If you want Archived records to be shown on the reports you must tick the 'Include Archived Records' box.
Please note that if you are creating Quick Reports by Org Unit you will have to ensure the Cascade checkbox is enabled within the Portal Dashboard configuration for the data to populate correctly on the Quick report.
Linking to Excel
Open the Quick Report through the Web Portal and copy its URL.
Open a blank Excel sheet.
On the Excel sheet, select the Data tab and then click on From Web
Paste in the URL of the quick report, and then click OK.
On the Navigator, select the report by its name and then load.
The data will load in the excel sheet. Save the file.
You will need to Refresh the Sheet in order to pull up to date data out of Assure Simply select the Refresh button within the Data tab.
HOW TO SET AN IP ADDRESS RANGE FOR A PORTAL (NOT ASSUREGO+)
It is possible to limit the access to a Portal Dashboard based on an IPv4 address within Portal Dashboard configuration, there is an “IP Address Range” section available:
Here you can Specify:
- Lower Range – The lower bounds of the IP range.
- Upper Range – The upper bounds of the IP range. If only a single address is being filtered on, then this value is not required.
- Access – Whether or the specific range is a list of allowed or restricted addresses.
- Priority – Using the “up down” icon at the start of the “IP Address Range” table, it’s possible to drag and drop sort the entries in the table. When the Ranges are being evaluated, the top most is processed first. For the purposes of evaluating access when there are multiple ranges specified, deny will always override allow.
When a user tries to access a Portal and their IP address has been restricted, they will be presented with the login or home screen of Assure.
