This article explains how to configure the colour theme and logo for Assure and AssureGO+. It covers two distinct configuration areas: (1) using the Theme Builder (the system tool for setting UI colour codes across Assure and AssureGO+) to update navigation, background, and button colours; and (2) changing the default Dashboard Chart Colours used in the embedded homepage and module-level dashboard charts. Both settings are accessible via the System Settings Menu and require the Manage System Settings Supervisor Privilege. Changes take effect immediately upon saving. No preview is available before saving. Colour settings apply globally across both Assure and AssureGO+.
Cross-module scope: This article spans the Assure main web application and the AssureGO+ mobile app. Colour theme changes apply to both platforms simultaneously.

- An active Assure user account with the Manage System Settings Supervisor Privilege enabled.
- Access to the System Settings Menu via Settings > System Configuration > System Settings.
Overview
Aligning Assure to company branding helps increase user familiarity and supports adoption of the health and safety management software. In addition to configuring forms with custom terminology, administrators can include the company logo and colours.
The following items can be configured:
- Control colour themes in Assure and AssureGO+ via the Theme Builder.
- Change the colours used in Assure's embedded homepage dashboard and module dashboard charts.
Section 1: Updating Colour Themes via the Theme Builder
What is the Theme Builder?
The Theme Builder (the in-system tool for updating UI colour codes) allows an administrator to update the company colour theme across Assure. Colour changes carry through automatically to the AssureGO+ mobile app.
How to Access the Theme Builder
Click the Settings icon in the top-right corner of Assure.
Navigate to System Configuration > System Settings.
Select Theme Colours from the System Settings menu.
How the Theme Builder Works
- The administrator can update colour codes at any time.
- Clicking Save immediately applies the updated colours to Assure.
- No preview is available before saving.
- The administrator can select Reset to default theme colours at any time from the same menu to restore the original Evotix colour scheme.
UI Elements That Can Be Changed
The following user interface elements can be configured using the Theme Builder:
- (1) Main system colour text
- (2) Main system background
- (3) Main system Primary Colour (Links and Buttons)
- (4) Main system Primary hover (Links & Buttons)
- (5) Navigation Background
- (6) Navigation Background Hover
- (7) Navigation Text & Icons
- (8) Navigation Text & Icon Hover
Note: Some system messages are intentionally fixed colours and cannot be changed, because their colour conveys meaning (for example, error messaging).
Where Colour Changes Apply
Colour changes made in the Theme Builder apply to:
- Assure (the main web application), including navigation, backgrounds, buttons, and headers.
- AssureGO+ (the mobile progressive web app), including equivalent interface areas.
Tips for Setting Colour Themes
Main system colours:
- Main system colour text (1): Do not use white, as white text on a white background will be invisible. White may be used for button text (4) if the navigation colour is a dark shade.
- Main system background (2): Use a light colour.
Navigation colours:
- Navigation background colour (6): Use the primary company colour.
- Background hover (7): Use a tonal variation of the navigation background colour.
Colour contrast:
- Check colour contrast using the embedded link to the contrast checker: https://webaim.org/resources/contrastchecker/
- Input the foreground and background colours (for example, background colour and text) to confirm the contrast is sufficient.
Common colour codes for text:
- Black: #000000
- White: #ffffff
Colour tone generator:
- Use https://mdigi.tools/color-shades/#2199a0 to create tonal shades of the main navigation colour.
Section 2: Configuring Dashboard Chart Colours
What are Dashboard Chart Colours?
In addition to the UI colour theme, administrators can change the default colours used in the embedded Assure dashboard charts (the visual chart widgets displayed on the homepage dashboard and individual module dashboards).
The embedded dashboard charts provide a quick, visual data summary. These charts can be set up by individual users and shared between users. Administrators can change the default colour palette applied to all charts.
How to Access Dashboard Chart Colours
Click the Settings icon in the top-right corner of Assure.
Navigate to System Configuration > System Settings.
Select Dashboard Chart Colours from the System Settings menu.
How Dashboard Chart Colours Work
- Administrators can configure up to 16 different colours.
- Colours are used in order from 1 to 16 for categories in the charts.
- If a chart displays more than 16 categories, colours repeat from the beginning of the list.
- The default palette is set to Evotix brand colours that align with the default Assure colour theme.
- The administrator can update colour codes at any time.
- Clicking Save immediately applies the new colours to all charts across Assure. The administrator is returned to the home screen with the updated chart colours active.
- No preview is available before saving.
- The administrator can select Reset to default colours at any time from the same menu.
Tips for Choosing Dashboard Chart Colours
- Avoid using reds and greens as the top 5 to 8 colours, as these are commonly associated with RAG (Red, Amber, Green) status ratings. The colours used within the dashboard cannot be set for each individual graphic; they are drawn from the default colour list in order.
- Prioritise the top 1 to 10 colours, as these are used most frequently. Aligning these to the main system colour creates a consistent visual experience.
- Consider colour accessibility. Some users have limited colour vision and may find certain colours difficult to differentiate. Use tools such as Colour Oracle to simulate how a person who is colour blind will see the selected palette.
