Adding a link to the Contractor Register in Contractor Sub Modules
When managing your contractors in the contractor sub modules of Assure, you can select a contractor from your central contractor register. This will allow you to report and analyze your data with a more contractor centric view.
The capability to select contractors from the contractor register is not available on AssureGO+.
The contractor register link is now available in all the contractor sub modules:
- Notification of Project module
- Pre Construction Information
- Construction Phase Plan
- Health and Safety File Preparation
Please note, depending on your configuration of Assure your modules may have different names, but the Contractor Register link will be available in all of them.
How to enable the Contractor Register link in the Contractor Sub Modules:
Requirements:
- The Contractor Register sub module must be in use.
- For the pre-construction information, construction phase plan, and health and safety file preparation modules, the following fields must be enabled within caption maintenance:
- Select Contractor from register
- Contractor Name {Link}
- Contractor Name {Text}
To enable the required captions go to:
- Settings > System Configuration > Module Setup
- Contractor > e.g. Pre Construction Information > Captions
- Click on +New
- Click on the Property Name drop down field and select the field you would like to add
- Change the Display Text and add guidance if you would like
- Ensure ‘display in interface’ is ticked
- Click Save and Close
The required fields will appear in the selected module, e.g. the Pre-Construction Information Module:
Additional Notes:
- For reference fields, you must delete the words {Link} and {Free Text} from the display text before you save. In the example below, when you select Contractor Name {Link} in the Property Name field, you need to delete the ‘{Link}’ (highlighted below) from the Display Text field before you save and Close.
- You can use the new fields without having the contractor register link. To do this, enable all the fields as directed above, but do not enable the ‘Select Contractor from Contractor Register’ fields.
- When a contractor is selected from the contractor register, you will be able to see the connected records from the detail view of the contractor register record.
