Action manager and viewing action history logs
The system has an action manager where you can see all your actions in the one place, if you have the ‘View tasks for other people’ permissions, you will also see actions that are created for other people here too.
From the action manager, you can do the following:
- Create a free-standing action.
- Edit an existing action.
- Complete an action.
- Assign the action to another user.
- Delete the action.
- View the detail view of an action.
- View the change history log for an action
- Go to the record that the action is created against.
- Run a filter against all the actions.
- Run a quick report or export the action records.
VIEW AN ACTION’S HISTORY LOG
Every action will have a ‘log’ that will store the details of changes made to some fields within an action. This can be helpful to check the original information before a user has made an update.
If you have the role permission ‘View Audit Trail Log’ you can access action logs by selecting ‘Logs’ from the more menu of an action in the following system areas:
- Action Manager
- My Tasks
- From within a module record for record and IQ actions
The Actions Log page will show changes made to some fields in an action made by a user and the time/date it occurred. You can view the fields affected by hovering over the highlighted text if there are many field changes.
You can also apply filters on this page to filter by fields affected, changed by user, action type or changes made between dates.
The quick report option will display an action’s log within the webpage for you to export as you prefer.
If you select the ‘View Details’ icon against a user's amendment, it will open the Action Log Details that will highlight the old to new value where the user has made an edit.
