Free Standing Actions (Actions created directly through My Tasks or Action Manager, independently of any module record) can be saved against an associated Organisational Unit (Org Unit). This article explains how to create a Free Standing Action from both Action Manager and My Tasks.
A Free Standing Action is an Action that is not linked to any module record (such as an Incident Record or Risk Assessment). It exists independently within the Assure platform. An Action Manager is the centralised area in Assure used to view, manage, and filter all Actions across the system.
Prerequisites
Before creating Free Standing Actions, confirm the following:
- The Create Free Standing Actions Supervisor Privilege must be set to Allow. This enables the New Record button to appear in Task Management (Action Manager), giving the user the ability to create an Action in Assure that is not linked to a module record.
- To edit the Org Unit field on another user's Action, the Override Actions Role Permission is required.
- To configure Org Unit captions, the Manage Module Settings Supervisor Privilege must be set to Allow.
Creating a Free Standing Action from Action Manager
Navigate to Tasks on the left-hand navigation panel.
Under the Task Management drop-down, click Action Manager.
Select the New Record icon from the Action Manager list view.
Complete the Action form fields as required.
The Org Unit Selector field is available at the top of the page for Free Standing Actions. Select the relevant Org Unit.
Click Save.
Creating a Free Standing Action from My Tasks
Click on the My Tasks text on the user bar on the homepage of Assure.
Select the New Record icon from the My Tasks list view.
Complete the Action form fields as required.
The Org Unit Selector field is available at the top of the page for Free Standing Actions. Select the relevant Org Unit.
Click Save.
