This article explains how to reassign an Action (a task created against a module record or as a standalone Free Standing Action, assigned to a user for completion in Assure, to a different system user. Reassignment is performed from within a module record or via the Action Manager (the central Assure feature that provides a unified interface for creating, viewing, editing, assigning, filtering, and managing Actions). The user performing the reassignment must hold the Reassign Action Role Permission. The process involves navigating to the relevant record, locating the Action, clicking the Assign button, using the Cog Wheel Menu to select a new user, and optionally entering comments.
Prerequisites
Before reassigning an Action, confirm the following:
- You have the Reassign Action Role Permission set to Allow. This permission gives users the ability to reassign an Action to another system user and can be used in the Action Manager.
- The target user exists as an active system user in Assure.
- You can view the Action you wish to reassign. If the Action belongs to another user, you may also need the View Tasks for Other People Role Permission.
Reassigning an Action from Within a Module Record
Navigate to the module record that contains the Action you want to reassign (for example, an Incident Record or Risk Assessment record).
Click the Actions icon on the desired record to open the Actions section for that record.
Locate the specific Action you want to reassign.
Open the Three Dots menu next to that Action, and click the Assign button.
On the reassignment page, click the Cog Wheel drop down and click select.
Once in the Select menu, find and assign the appropriate user.
Optionally, enter any relevant comments in the comments field to provide context for the reassignment.
Click Save & Close to save the changes and confirm the reassignment.
| Note: The reassigned user will receive a system email notification informing them of the Action. |
Reassigning an Action from Action Manager
Action Manager provides an alternative entry point for reassigning Actions, including Free Standing Actions (Actions created independently that are not linked to any specific module record).
From the left-hand navigation panel in Assure, click Tasks.
Select Action Manager from the list.
Locate the Action you want to reassign in the Action Manager list. You can use the Search Bar to locate specific Actions quicker.
Click the Cog Wheel Menu icon next to the Action.
Select Assign from the menu. This option requires the Reassign Action Role Permission.
| Note: This option will not appear if the Action's Status has been marked as Complete. |
On the reassignment page, click the Cog Wheel drop down and click select.
Once in the Select menu, find and assign the appropriate user.
Optionally, enter any relevant comments in the comments field to provide context for the reassignment.
Click Save & Close to save the changes and confirm the reassignment.
