If you have the AssureGo+ and Learn integration configured, authenticated AGO+ users can access Learn training assigned to them through AssureGo+. More information can be found here.
Learn can also be configured to use Assure authentication. This allows both AssureGO+ only users and Assure and AssureGO+ users to sign in to Learn using their Assure credentials, without needing a separate Learn username and password.
Once configured, a Log in with Assure button will appear on the Learn login page.
What happens when a user selects this button depends on whether they're already signed in to Assure:
- Already signed in to Assure: The user is automatically authenticated using their existing Assure session and signed in to Learn. They do not need to enter their credentials again.
- Not signed in to Assure: The user is directed to the Assure login page. Once they successfully sign in to Assure, they're authenticated and redirected to Learn.
If the authenticated user does not already have an account in Learn, a new Learn user will be created automatically when they access Learn using this method.
This configuration only needs to be completed once by a Learn administrator.
Before you start
You'll need:
- Administrator access to Learn.
- Your Assure site URL, which is used to identify:
- Your Assure stack (UK, UK2, ANZ or NA).
- Your customer key.
For example in this Assure URL:
https://uk2.sheassure.net/evotixassure
- Assure stack: UK2
- Customer key: evotixassure
Configure Assure as an identity provider
- In Learn, navigate to Access Control > Identity Providers. From the Add new identity provider dropdown, select Assure.Select Add.
-
Enter a Name for the identity provider.
This name will appear on the login button users see on the Learn login page, so choose something recognisable, such as Log in with Assure.
- Configure the Assure connection:
- Select the Assure stack your organisation uses (UK, UK2, ANZ or NA).
- Enter your customer key.
4. Select Submit to save the identity provider.
Enable Assure authentication
Once you've created the identity provider, you'll need to enable it as a login option for Learn users.
- Navigate to Access Control > Access Control.
- Under End-user log in providers, ensure Log in with Assure (or the name you gave the identity provider) is selected.
- Select Save.
Assure authentication is now enabled.
What happens next?
The next time users visit the Learn login page, they'll see the new login button using the name you configured.
When a user selects the button:
- If they're already signed in to Assure, they'll be automatically signed in to Learn using their existing Assure session.
- If they're not signed in to Assure, they'll be taken to the Assure login page. After successfully signing in, they'll be redirected to Learn.
This means users can use their Assure authentication to access Learn without needing to remember or enter separate Learn credentials.
If the user doesn't already exist in Learn, a new Learn user will be created automatically when they successfully authenticate using Assure.
