Control the visibility of scoring for Checklist Templates on Reports

This article explains how a Systems Administrator can control whether section scoring and total score are visible on iQ Checklist Template (an iQ Template using the Checklist question type, which uses Weighted scoring and presents Yes/No style questions) reports in Evotix Assure. A Display Scoring toggle is available at the template level and controls score visibility across all versions of the template, both within Assure module records and on generated reports. The setting can be configured at the point of creating a new template or applied retrospectively to an existing template via Template Details.

Prerequisites

  • Access to Settings > Templates > iQ Templates in Assure.
  • The Manage IQ Templates Supervisor Privilege (the permission that allows a user to create, edit, and copy iQ Templates and configure template questions and scoring) set to Allow.
  • The iQ Question Set Template Type must be Checklist.

Overview

Users can choose whether to make section scoring on iQ Checklist Template Reports visible. There is an option in Checklist Templates to toggle the display of section scoring in reports on or off.
 
When scoring is hidden:
  • Section Scores and the Total Score do not appear in the module record view.
  • The generated report does not display any scoring information.
When scoring is visible:
  • Section Scores and the Total Score are displayed in the module record view.
  • The generated report includes all scoring information.
Note: For Checklist iQ Templates, scoring is fixed to Weighted scoring. The Display Scoring toggle does not disable the scoring calculation itself -- it only controls whether scores are shown to users in records and reports. 

 

Option 1: Configuring Display Scoring on a New Template

1. Navigate to Settings > Templates > iQ Templates.

2. Click New and choose Checklist for the Question Set Template Type.

3. On the new template creation screen, locate the field Display Scoring (applies to all versions of this template).

4. Configure the checkbox as required:

  • Untick the checkbox if you do not wish scoring to be displayed.
  • Tick the checkbox if you wish scoring to be displayed.

5. Complete any remaining template settings and click Save and Close.

Note: The Display Scoring setting applies to all versions of the template. Changing the setting on a draft version will affect published versions of the same template when the draft is confirmed and published.

 

Option 2: Configuring Display Scoring on an Existing Template

On existing iQ Templates, navigate to the Checklist you wish to remove the scoring from and on the COG menu select Template Details. On the Template Details section, you now have the option to Toggle the Value for Displaying Score on Reports.
 
Steps:

1. Navigate to Settings > Templates > iQ Templates.

2. Locate the Checklist iQ Template you want to update.

3. Click the Menu Cog (cog wheel icon) on the template row.

4. Select Template Details from the dropdown menu.

5. Click on the button Toggle Values to update to No (to hide scoring) or Yes (to show scoring). 

 


 

Outcome: What Changes in the Record and Report

When Display Scoring is set to No (scoring hidden)

  • The Section Scores and Total Score no longer appear when viewing a module record.
  • The generated report will no longer display scoring.

When Display Scoring is set to Yes (scoring visible)

  • The Section Scores and Total Score are displayed in the module record.

Important Notes

  • The Display Scoring toggle is only available for Checklist iQ Template types. Other template types (Mixed, Audit, Behavioural) handle scoring visibility differently.
  • The setting applies to all versions of the template, not just the current draft.

  • Section and template scores appear in module records, standard reports (including the Audit Detail Report and General Risk Detailed Report), and the Assure Data Extraction API (IQ Extract). Hiding scoring via the Display Scoring toggle removes score visibility in records and reports but does not affect the IQ Extract data output.
