Configure IQ Template (Advanced)
How do I create a new IQ Template with advanced settings?
To create a new IQ question set, please go to Settings -> Templates - > IQ Templates - > New Record
A new screen will pop out asking you to name your new IQ Template. You will then have a choice of IQ type either:
- Mixed
- Behavioural
- Audit
- Checklist
The Mixed template is an advanced feature with allows templates to be a combination of:
- Numeric
- Text
- Single select (picklist)
- Multi select (picklist)
- Branching
The branching functionality allows you to ask a question and based on the answer provided, the template will ask you another question or move on to another section.
Following the question template type, you will be able to select which language the template, if you have purchased our Multi Lingual feature.
Within the current IQ Templates there is a Not Applicable section included. This allows users to mark a question as N/A and leave comments for why it is N/A.
You will be able to change the settings for the N/A comments section. They will be able to be:
- Visible
- Hidden
- Required
IQ Templates include the Enhanced confidentiality, that is currently used with Audit and General Risk Templates.
Once these details have been completed and any guidance has been added, please select the Save & Close icon to create your new template.
Once the template has been created, it will appear for selection within the list view of templates. To start adding questions to your template, please got the Cog > Configure Question Set
The following screen will appear with the message “Drag a section here”. To add a section, select the arrow from the bottom task bar:
First drag a section into the box above. This will then allow you to name the section and add guidance as required.
To add a question, follow the steps above, depending on the type of question required. Once a question has been added to a section, it can be configured.
All questions can allow or deny the following settings:
- If it is mandatory
- Allow actions to be raise
- Allow comments to be added
- Allow not applicable selection
- Guidance
- Confidential question
- Allow attachments
- Allow notes
This can all be set on a question by question bases.
From there, each question should be configured by selecting the configure icon next to the response type.
Please see the different types of questions and their configuration below:
- Configuring a numeric question
When a numeric question is selected, you will see a configure button next to the response type:
By selecting this configure button you can set the minimum, maximum, step (range the number increases), default value, question weigh and scoring type.
Configuring a text question:
Like the numeric question, a text question can be configured to have a minimum and maximum text length:
As the text has no value, please note the scoring type will always be excluded from score.
- Configuring a single section question
Single selection questions are a new feature with IQ that forces users to pick one answer from a picklist (response group).
The response groups are made within the question configuration and once created, can be reused in other questions and sections within all future versions of this template.
If a response group has already been created, please use the drop down to select.
To add new values, enter the text into the add new box and select add:
The list of the responses will then appear in the box below. To remove any duplicate or not required values, please select the x icon on the value not required. Once complete, please select Save & Close.
- Configuring a Multi Selection Question
As with the single selection, when the configure button is selected the responses should be populated within the selection box.
Other responses will appear within the Available responses which can be dragged and dropped into the selection box.
- Configuring a Branch Condition
Another new feature of IQ is the ability to show a new section or question depending on the answers provided in the previous answer.
To enable the branching condition, drag the branch condition between two questions or the last question and a new section:
On the configuration panel, select configure which will determine what answer will open the branch question.
For example, if the if the value “Example” is set in the configuration and this answer is selected by the user. The question set will move onto the next section:
If value “one” is selected within the template, the system will skip “multi selection” question and move onto Section Two:
Once your question set has been completed, please selected the Cog > Template List
This will return you to the list view of all your templates.
Once the template has been completed and no further changes are required, please select the Cog > Confirm Version
This will then ask if you would like to publish this question set and make it available within the modules:
If you would not like to publish the question set straight away, please select save & close
