This article explains how the Org Group Cascade setting configured in Assure is reflected within Insights (the Evotix analytics and reporting module). How Org Group Cascade Appears in Insights
Within Insights, it is possible to report on an Org Group using the selected Org Units within the Org Group or the selected Org Units and all their children. In the Organisational Group table, filter on the field Org Group Cascade.
The Org Group Cascade field reflects the Cascade setting that was applied when the Org Group was used in Assure:
- When Parent is selected, it reflects Cascade being off - Child Org Units will not be included in the data set.
- When Parent and Children is selected, it reflects Cascade being on - Child Org Units will be included in the data set.
How the Cascade Setting is Configured in Assure
The Cascade setting can be set in Assure when an Org Group is applied as a filter in a module list view.
If the Cascade option is ticked when the Org Group is applied, the results will include records from the Child Org Units of the Org Units specified in the Organisational Group. If Cascade is not selected, only records directly assigned to the named Org Units are returned.
Important Notes
- The Org Group Cascade field in Insights is a read-only reflection of the Cascade setting applied in Assure. The setting is not configurable from within Insights.
- Org Groups are created once and can be applied across any module in Assure.
- If the expected Cascade behaviour is not reflected in Insights, confirm that the Cascade setting on the Org Group in Assure is configured correctly.
